Data Processing Addendum
This addendum forms part of the Terms of Service when ShopReply processes customer information for your business.
Roles and scope
Your business is the controller and ShopReply is the processor of customer information used for email support. Processing covers receiving, storing, reviewing and answering messages for the duration of the service. It may include customers' names, email addresses, message contents and store information. Account and billing information is covered by the Privacy Policy.
Your instructions
Your account settings, store information and authorized support requests are your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis, informing your customers and providing only necessary information. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details or sensitive information that is not needed for customer support. We process customer information only to provide the service under your instructions, unless the law requires otherwise.
Confidentiality and service providers
Access is limited to authorized people who need it for their work and must respect confidentiality. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information. You authorize providers of AI, email and hosting services needed to deliver the service. Contact us for the current recipient list and processing locations. We will notify you of material provider changes so you can raise a reasonable data-protection objection. International transfers are subject to applicable data-protection law.
Requests and incidents
We provide reasonable assistance with customer privacy requests, relevant security incidents and your data-protection obligations. We notify you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal-data breach affecting your information. You may request information reasonably needed to assess our compliance with this addendum, subject to confidentiality and protection of other customers.
End of service and contact
At the end of the service, contact us to request return or deletion of your customer information. Records required by law may be retained only for that purpose.
